Ingredients

- 1 cup wheat germ (dalia)
- 1 1/2 cups sugar or 2 cups jaggery
- 1 cup ghee
- 1/2 tablespoon chopped almonds
- 1/2 tablespoon chopped pistachios
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
Recipe
- 1 warm ghee in a heavy pan.
- 2 now add wheat germ.
- 3 stir and cook till germ is golden in colour and aroma exudes.
- 4 meanwhile melt sugar or jaggery in 1 cup water.
- 5 keep aside.
- 6 boil and add remaining water to roasted wheat germ.
- 7 stir gently now, and cook till the grain of the germ is soft on pressing.
- 8 add sugar or jaggery, add cardamom and chopped nuts.
- 9 stir and simmer covered, stirring occasionally.
- 10 cook till ghee separates along the sides.
- 11 serve hot.
- 12 freeze and thaw as required.
- 13 before serving, take in pan, sprinkle some hot water. heat while stirring, till ghee again separates.
