Peanut Butter Cookie Candy Bars (cookie Mix)

Ingredients
- 1 (17 1/2 ounce) package betty crocker peanut butter cookie mix (1 lb 1.5 oz)
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine, softened
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons water
- 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 dash salt
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 (14 ounce) bag caramels, unwrapped
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 1/2 cups dry-roasted unsalted peanuts
- 1 (11 1/2 ounce) bag milk chocolate chips (2 cups)
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 350°f
- 2 spray bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
- 3 in large bowl, stir cookie base ingredients until soft dough forms.
- 4 press dough in bottom of pan.
- 5 bake 12 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.
- 6 cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- 7 in large bowl, beat all filling ingredients except powdered sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth.
- 8 gradually beat in powdered sugar until well blended (filling will be thick).
- 9 press filling over cookie base.
- 10 refrigerate while preparing caramel layer.
- 11 in 2-quart saucepan, heat caramels and 2 tablespoons water over low heat, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted.
- 12 stir in peanuts.
- 13 spread evenly over filling.
- 14 refrigerate about 15 minutes or until caramel layer is firm.
- 15 in small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered on high 1 to 2 minutes, stirring once, until melted.
- 16 spread evenly over caramel layer.
- 17 refrigerate about 1 hour or until chocolate is set.
- 18 for bars, cut into 9 rows by 4 rows.
- 19 store covered at room temperature.
