Kofta Curry (meatballs)

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 kg minced mutton or 1 kg minced beef or 1 kg minced chicken
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons gram flour (roasted)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 inches ginger, sliced fine
  • 3 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 -5 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 cup boiled tomato puree
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 for koftas:.
  • 2 combine minced meat with all kofta ingredients.
  • 3 shape into balls.
  • 4 shallow fry till golden brown.
  • 5 put aside.
  • 6 for curry:.
  • 7 fry onions in a little oil, add ginger and garlic and fry together till golden brown.
  • 8 add remaining curry ingredients with enough water to make a gravy.
  • 9 bring to a boil, add koftas and simmer for about 40-50 minutes.
  • 10 garnish with coriander and serve hot with naan bread or pitas or chapati.
