Kofta Curry (meatballs)

Ingredients

- 1 kg minced mutton or 1 kg minced beef or 1 kg minced chicken
- 2 medium onions
- 2 1/2 tablespoons gram flour (roasted)
- 1 egg
- 2 inches ginger, sliced fine
- 3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 4 -5 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 cup boiled tomato puree
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped
Recipe
- 1 for koftas:.
- 2 combine minced meat with all kofta ingredients.
- 3 shape into balls.
- 4 shallow fry till golden brown.
- 5 put aside.
- 6 for curry:.
- 7 fry onions in a little oil, add ginger and garlic and fry together till golden brown.
- 8 add remaining curry ingredients with enough water to make a gravy.
- 9 bring to a boil, add koftas and simmer for about 40-50 minutes.
- 10 garnish with coriander and serve hot with naan bread or pitas or chapati.
