Hazelnut Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients
- Servings: 8
- 200 g hazelnuts, roasted, peeled, coursely chopped
- 250 g good quality dark chocolate
- 185 g butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Recipe
- 1 pre heat oven to 160 c.
- 2 grease 16 x 16 cms pan and line with baking paper.
- 3 melt chocolate and butter together in bowl over saucepan of boiling water.
- 4 cool slightly.
- 5 beat eggs, sugar and vanilla with electric beaters till thick and pale.
- 6 stir in cooled chocolate.
- 7 sift in flour and baking powder, stir till just combined.
- 8 add hazelnuts, mix in well.
- 9 pour into prepared pan, bake for 35 - 40 minutes.
- 10 cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn onto wire rack.
